Before You Travel

Questions, honestly answered.

Is Brazil safe for international travelers?

+

Yes — with the right planning. Brazil is a country of many realities, and travelers who visit with a private concierge experience it very differently from those who arrive without guidance. We design itineraries around the safest, most established destinations and hotels; we arrange private transfers and vetted local guides; and we're available on WhatsApp 24/7 throughout your journey. Thousands of American, European and Australian travelers visit Brazil every week without incident. With Ekoa, you never feel alone.

Do you handle every reservation — hotels, flights, restaurants, transfers?

+

Yes. Ekoa is a full-service concierge. Once your itinerary is approved we manage every reservation: international-to-domestic flight connections, private airport transfers, all accommodations, curated restaurants, private guides, permits and any specialty experience. You receive a single elegant travel document with everything confirmed.

Can I customize the entire itinerary?

+

Entirely — that's the point. We don't sell packages. Every itinerary is designed from a blank page around your interests, pace, budget, style of hospitality, level of adventure and the destinations you dream about. We iterate until every day feels exactly right.

Do you support us before and during the trip?

+

Yes. Before departure, your travel designer is your single point of contact — via email, WhatsApp or scheduled calls. During the journey, our in-country concierge is available around the clock for anything, from a last-minute restaurant swap to a helicopter upgrade to a translation.

How much does an Ekoa journey cost?

+

Bespoke journeys with Ekoa typically start around USD 850 per person, per day, based on double occupancy — including hotels, transfers, private guides and curated experiences (international flights not included). Deeper journeys — Amazon expeditions, private-island stays, multi-region trips or specialty experiences — vary accordingly. During your consultation we'll suggest a range that fits your travel style.

How far in advance should I book?

+

For the finest hotels and boutique pousadas — especially in Fernando de Noronha, Bahia and the Amazon — we recommend planning 4–8 months ahead. That said, we regularly design last-minute journeys within 30 days when the calendar allows.

What's the best time of year to visit Brazil?

+

There's no single answer — Brazil is continental. The Amazon and Pantanal are best in the dry season (May–October). Fernando de Noronha and the northeast coast shine August–February. Rio and Bahia are gorgeous September–March. The southern mountains (Serra Catarinense, Gramado) are dramatic in winter, June–August. We'll match your dates to the destinations that will be at their best.

Do you work with families and multi-generational groups?

+

Absolutely. Family journeys are one of our specialties — with pace, safety, hotels and experiences carefully calibrated for kids and grandparents alike. We can also arrange nannies, private drivers and family-friendly guides.

Do you speak my language?

+

Our concierge team communicates in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French. All local guides on your journey are English-speaking, and specialty language guides can be arranged on request.

What if my plans change once I've booked?

+

We work with flexible partners wherever possible and manage all changes on your behalf. If life shifts, we adapt — that's what a concierge is for.
